Blair ~ Melacacia Custom #117

Blair is a sweet little girl who lives in the woods
Every October she feels drawn to the tops of the trees to live amongst the birds.
By instinct, she knows that she must sleep high up in a nest under the moonlight until All Hallow's Eve has passed.
Frightened by what might happen if she ignores her instincts, she watches from above as all the other children celebrate with costumes and candy.

Her listing will be live from 5 p.m Sunday October 7th through October 14th, 2012

Happy Birthday to Chloe and to all of the Kenner girls out there!)

It is Chloe's 40th birthday!

This is definitely something to celebrate! :D

A little bit about the history of Kenner Blythe (from Wiki):

Blythe was created in 1972 by designer Allison Katzman at Marvin Glass and Associates[2] and marketed in the USA by the now-defunct toy company Kenner. Due to a lack of interest, Blythe dolls were only sold for one year in the U.S. (produced in Hong Kong) and also in Australia, during 1972. It would only become popular some 27 years later. Reportedly, she was modeled after drawings by Margaret Keane, similarly to many other dolls of the '60s and '70s. Her most distinctive feature were eyes that changed color with the pull of a string attached to the back of her head.

In 1997, New York TV and video producer Gina Garan was given a 1972 Kenner Blythe by a friend and began using it to practice her photographic skills. She began taking her Blythe everywhere with her and took hundreds of photos. In 1999, she was introduced to CWC's Junko Wong by artist and illustrator, Jeffrey Fulvimari which brought Blythe to the attention of Parco and toy executives. In 2000, Gina published her first book of Blythe photography with Chronicle Books, This is Blythe. In 2001, Hasbro (the Trademark and License owner) gave Takara of Japan and CWC a license to produce the New Edition of Blythe (Neo Blythe). Blythe was used in a television advertising campaign by Parco, the fashion branch of Seibu Department Stores in Japan and was an instant hit.

New Photos are up!

"The Little Girl with a Curl" ~ Melacacia Custom #111

I wanted to give another option for her body, so I added new photos of her with this more posable body: This body not only allows more poses, but it helps her fit more snugly in her little bed :)

The winner of the auction can send me a message and let me know which body they would like.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Little Girl with a Curl ~ Melacacia Custom #111

There was a little girl,

Who had a little curl,

Right in the middle of her forehead.

When she was good,

She was very, very good,

But when she was bad she was horrid.

Based on the original poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow "The Little Girl with a Curl"

Melacacia's Etsy Shop Update

Just a little update from my Etsy shop:

I am not taking new orders, but I am selling dresses that I have already made ~ overstock from Blythecon ~ through custom listings in my shop.

If you would like to know what colors/styles that I have available, please contact me on Etsy (not through email or on here, please).

They are selling quickly, but there are still some really cute dresses left, so if you would like one, now is a great time to go grab one!

CLICK HERE to go to Melacacia Etsy Shop

Also, my newest style, the "Back to School Dress" will be available soon! I will list them as I make them and will not be able to take custom orders for them. Sorry for the inconvenience. Doing custom orders takes up many hours and I am struggling to keep up with my work as it is. I'm doing the best I can! :) I hope everyone understands <3

Olive ~ Melacacia Custom #110

She is my 110th custom doll. Her name is Olive.

Olive is a strange little girl.

At least, that is what all of the townspeople say about her.

She is usually seen pushing her bunny in a baby carriage around town.

No one talks to her and she talks to no one,

although sometimes you can catch her whispering secret thoughts to her bunny

as if in their own little world...

Please follow this link for more info on Olive:

Thanks for looking! ^__^ cheers!

Melacacia Custom Art Doll #108

Elsie ~ Shipwrecked Spirit of the Sea

Up from the mist, arises a pale and beautiful girl,

Elsie. She is the ghost of a girl lost at sea many years ago.

Her hopeful journey to far away lands took a drastic turn when the ship in which she traveled

sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor, never to be found.

She now lives among the creatures of the sea and can be seen through the fog at night

floating above the water as the moonlight catches her gown.

Some say she is dancing.

Others say she is longing to return home but her spirit belongs to the sea...

Here is the link to her full description and auction:
